Holdingford FFA Chapter

Tell us about your involvement with FFA. This year, I am serving as the president of my chapter. Last year, I was the sentinel. I have done a variety of Career Development Events, most recently in agriculture sales. I also filled out a proficiency about my bees that got second at state contest last year. This year will be my first year doing a Leadership Development Event in employment skills.

What has FFA taught you so far? Some of the most important skills I will take with me after my time in FFA will be leadership, communications and public speaking.

How do you intend to stay involved in ag after your FFA career? After high school, I plan to attend North Dakota State University to earn a double major in agronomy and horticulture. I also hope to own my own farm where I would raise cattle and swine. I also want to continue my pumpkin growing and honeybee hobbies.

What are you involved in outside of FFA? I am involved in 4-H, the knowledge bowl, the National Honor Society and the peer helpers group. I also own and operate Jaden’s County Line Market, where I sell pumpkins, honey, U-pick flowers and plants in the spring.

What is something people need to know about FFA? Everyone needs to know that agriculture is the 2% of the population who feeds the other 98%.
