Tell us about your involvement with FFA. I have participated in several FFA events, including chapter meetings, companion animal Career Development Event and national and state FFA conventions. I’ve also helped with fundraisers to raise money for our chapter. Being part of FFA has helped me build confidence and a strong connection to agriculture.
What has FFA taught you so far? FFA has taught me leadership, communication and the value of hard work. I’ve learned how agriculture connects to so many parts of our daily lives and how important it is to support local farmers. It’s also helped me develop career skills that I can use in any field, especially teamwork and responsibility.
How do you intend to stay involved in ag after your FFA career? After my FFA career, I plan to stay involved in agriculture by continuing to raise and care for my own animals. I want to keep learning about animal care, breeding and nutrition while building my own little farm. I also plan to stay active in my community by supporting local fairs, helping younger FFA members and promoting responsible animal ownership. Agriculture will always be a part of my life because working with animals teaches responsibility, patience and respect for the land.
What are you involved in outside of FFA? Outside of FFA, I’m involved in school activities such as tennis and softball, and work at a nursing home, too. I’ve learned about responsibility and caring for others while working at the nursing home. I also enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors.
What is something people need to know about FFA? People need to know that agriculture affects everyone — it’s not just about farming. It’s about food, clothing, medicine and the environment. Agriculture is constantly evolving with new technology, and it takes knowledge, science and dedication to keep it sustainable for future generations.
